You want someone who sees the things about you that are beautiful and can capture that in a way that sees you as you naturally are, at your best.
Welcome to Silk + Salt Photography! I’m Matt, and along with my business partner, Pamela, we offer a different kind of boudoir experience. We have created what can only be described as a passion project. This is not simply a photoshoot. It is designed to be one of the best days of your life. We make you feel like the queen we see in you. Hors d'oeuvres, pampering, music, professional hair and makeup, and most importantly, a safe and comfortable environment. We do not rush anything. In fact, we ask you to come back to see your photos a week after your session because we don’t want you to have to think about products or making choices – this day is for you, to relax and have your beauty captured.
While I focus on the photography, Pamela is there to assist you. She understands the power of boudoir. With her help, you will begin to see why and how this sensual genre of photography elevates people's self-esteem, boosts their confidence, and helps them love themselves more. Having a small team means we can bring much more care to your experience. We divide our tasks so that we can always focus on our strengths and on your experience. It begins to feel less intimidating, and more like a fun day with friends.
My photography style is unique. Boudoir is art, and I treat it as such. I have been training in the arts since childhood. Because I was born in Europe, I attended music schools throughout my education. I was surrounded by art, and because of that, I always looked at the world around me a little differently – more deeply, from different angles, with more feeling. Poses and angles are individual. Everybody is different. You are art by being just who you are, and I attempt to capture that. My working style with each client is based on this mindset. Throughout the whole experience, I will direct you, but you are the star. I will create a light environment and work with multiple lenses and cameras like a painter would work with multiple brushes and paints. I will direct your facial expressions and poses, with your input. This way, we get to capture YOU and a part of your story.
When choosing who to trust to take your photographs, whether they are portraits, boudoir, or even sexier photos of yourself, it is impossible to know who to work with immediately. I always advise that you look at the galleries on our website. See how we capture people. Notice our focus on them as people, not only as poses or lighting techniques. I often feature clients' eyes in my photos, jokingly calling my style “boudoir portraiture”. I'm most interested in immortalizing you - a team effort where we create something TOGETHER. My goal is to celebrate your personality and individuality. Ideally, we will create a piece of art that could not exist without both of our input.
