MR. D | SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH PORTRAITURE
April 3, 2020
Do we shoot men? You betcha.
Mr. D is an elementary school teacher. We think he missed his calling as a professional model, but we’re glad he’s committed to molding young minds because he really is amazing with children! He wanted a photo shoot that showed both his physical strength and emotional vulnerability. Shooting male portraits is quite different than shooting female boudoir. Posing, lighting, editing, style, and many technical aspects require specialized training to get it right. We are so very proud of how this portrait session turned out.

When you think of boudoir photography, you probably imagine a solo shoot—one person celebrating their sensuality, strength, and beauty. But here’s the secret more couples are discovering: boudoir isn’t just for one. Couples boudoir sessions are an incredible way to connect, celebrate your relationship, and create images that are as powerful as they are intimate. Whether you’re newly in love, celebrating a milestone, or simply want to reconnect on a deeper level, here’s why a couples boudoir session might be exactly what your relationship needs.

Let’s be real—boudoir photography is intimate. Trusting someone to capture your most vulnerable and empowered self can feel daunting. And when you find out that the photographer is a man? For some, that might raise a few eyebrows. But here’s the truth: hiring a male photographer for your boudoir session can be an incredible experience—one that leaves you feeling empowered, beautiful, and totally comfortable. Let’s explore why working with a male boudoir photographer can be a game-changer—and bust a few myths along the way.

I am a researcher by nature. I gather information, mull it over, think about all the scenarios and possible outcomes before making a decision. In some way, this gave me a sense of control in my life. I could predict how things would go, and if they fell into another scenario, well, I had already thought about that and could figure it out when that moment came.
