Steps to Prepare for your Boudoir Session
Don't worry... we got you, boo.
While the majority of our clients come from Ogden or the Salt Lake City area for their boudoir photo shoot experience, a lot of people who come to us have to drive across the state of Utah or even fly in. Because of that, we really wanted to give you some helpful tips on what to do before your boudoir shoot.
#1: Pick up to 5 outfits (or don't!)
We've got your back! We do realize that this might be the most involved and intimidating part of the preparation for your session, so we have a huge client closet that you can borrow from! Please don't bring anything if you don't want to. But if you do, you probably have some things in your closet already. You can never go wrong with these 3 outfits: bodysuits, sweaters + jeans, and simple panties + bras. This experience is all about you having the time of your life, though. Outfits shouldn’t be a thing to stress over. If you feel like it, you can also request to take artistic nudes or implied nude photos. This is your experience and there's no wrong way to do it!
#3: EAT BREAKFAST
I will repeat that, because we love you and we know the importance of this – eat a good breakfast, preferably your favorite one! 😊 You do not need to stress over looking slimmer. You are beautiful and we will help you see it. If you are afraid of having a bloated tummy that day or being out of shape, absolutely don’t worry about it. We know what we are doing and how to pose you and show your best angles. The most important thing is to be healthy and in a good mood! It’s ok if you forget to grab a bite, though – we will have wine and snacks waiting for you in our studio that you can eat while you are getting pampered by our hair and makeup artist.
#4: Do a few easy stretches before you leave home
Boudoir sessions can be a workout, especially with us. We will make you give your all at your session. You will most probably feel a bit sore the next day and all it means is that you have done a great job! We will be arching, popping the hip to the side, tilting the head, standing on your toes and other things. Just do few very easy stretches, especially for your neck, back, and legs. If you are not very flexible, no reason to worry though – we prefer to do natural looking poses so we won’t be doing anything extreme (unless this is something that you requested) but it will definitely help you to feel more stretched before the session.
#5: Try to get good sleep before your session
This might be a no-brainer but a reminder won't hurt. We want you to enjoy the experience and good sleep will make you feel more energetic and relaxed. Go to bed an hour early and finish all preparations before you go to bed so you don’t have anything to do right before you have to leave for your session.
