WHY BLACK AND WHITE?

I naturally became less interested in color because I noticed that very often color was taking attention away from my subjects. My photography is all about the person in front of me and our relationship at that moment and space when we are creating the image together. Color became an obstruction on my way to capturing the person in front of me.
Especially in boudoir, I always completely focus on the woman that decided to trust me to take her photographs. I think that was the final step for me on my journey to rediscovery of my art. I want my images to show them that they are strong, beautiful, in control, and confident not because of colors or other things but purely because of themselves and what is inside of them.
My love for black and white images culminated recently with the legendary Leica. Couple of months ago I saw a photo of their brand-new monochrome camera and I fell in love with it at first sight. It is a monochrome camera, which means that it captures images only in black and white. This camera both inspires and actually teaches me something new every single day.
Peter Lindbergh described it in the best way possible, I do not think I could put it in words any better:
“Although humans see reality in colour, for me, black and white has always been connected to the image's deeper truth, to its most hidden meaning.” – P. Lindbergh
I sincerely hope, that when you look at my photographs, you see the amazing women as the pieces of art that they are – and not just “pretty” pictures.
