BW-only workshop with one of the best in the world

This October, I had the chance to attend another workshop—this time with one of my favorite photographers, Szymon Brodziak, who is regarded as one of the best black-and-white photographers in the world. Since I began my journey in photography, I’ve carried over many habits from my 20 years of classical music training. One of those habits is a commitment to continuous learning and growth, no matter how proficient I may already be. Each year, I seek inspiration and insights from the best of the best to bring fresh energy to our sessions at Silk + Salt.

Although the workshop took place in Greece, I didn’t get to see much of the country because we spent nearly all our time focused on photography and learning. I only caught a distant glimpse of the Parthenon, so I’m already eager to return and experience the rich history there. It was essentially a non-stop schedule: straight from the airport to the workshop, then back to the airport three days later when it ended.

What makes these high-level workshops truly remarkable is the community of photographers who share a drive for improvement. The conversations, the exchange of philosophies, and the sharing of experiences create a unique atmosphere. Social media has changed the way we interact with each other, and while we are more connected than ever, it often feels like we’re also more distant. It was fascinating for me to experience photography in my native Polish language. It became a personal experiment to see how differently my mind and heart responded with a camera in hand while speaking Polish instead of English
So, what am I bringing back from this short yet incredible time spent with Brodziak? Above all, even more energy and love for what I do. I think anyone who has met me—or especially those who have had a session with me—can feel the passion I have for what we do at Silk + Salt and what we stand for as a boudoir studio, especially here in Utah. The most important part of this work for me is meeting you and creating together. Every session is deeply personal, and watching Szymon create his sessions broadened my vision of how much more I can offer to each client. Your story is also part of my story, and capturing that together in our photos is essential to me.

It’s rewarding to see that the people who inspire me share similar processes and philosophies. It reassures me that we bring you the highest level of service and photographic quality, on par with the best in the world.
One thing is for sure—every day, we aim to end the day better than we started, and we’ll continue to do so always.
