Why You Should Do Boudoir

There are reasons I hear all the time: I want to do a boudoir photoshoot to create a gift for my partner, I want to do a shoot because it's been on my bucket list forever, I recently got divorced and I want to do a boudoir shoot before I get back into the dating pool. All good reasons, but my favorite reason? I want to do a boudoir shoot so I can see myself in the eyes of an artist. Billions of times each day we are inundated with messages from the beauty and diet industries that we are not enough. (Only a slight exaggeration.) The ideal is both unattainable and constantly shifting. Trying to conform is like shooting at a moving target the size of a penny from 50 yards away. We're not meant to hit that target. If we did, we would stop buying their messaging and therefore their products. Celebrating ourselves through artistic expression is one significant way we can fight this messaging.
